Pro Football Wagering

Football wagering will inevitably have its ups and downs, just like the teams on which one is betting. Throughout the course of a pro football wagering season a bettor will likely have hot streaks, during which nearly every football wagering pick is winning; and cold streaks, during which nearly every pick is losing.

However, because such football wagering streaks are natural, football fans should expect them and not become either too confident or hopeless when they occur.

Football wagering hot and cold streaks are experienced by both the best and worst handicappers alike. Obviously, better handicappers will have more hot streaks and fewer cold streaks than unskilled handicappers, but streaks are nevertheless an expected phenomenon during the football season.

Such is the case because football wagering always has hits and misses and even the most profitable handicappers come nowhere close to winning all of their bets. Basically, when elements of chance are involved, streaks will inevitably occur.

For example, if one flips a coin 50 times, one will go through periods when either numerous heads or tails land in sequence. In other words, bettors should anticipate such streaks during every pro football wagering season and therefore not overreact when they occur.

The biggest problem that results from streaks is that pro football wagering fans give them much more meaning than they actually deserve. For instance, a bettor on a hot streak may suddenly believe his football wagering is infallible and begin to bet recklessly, or a bettor on a cold streak may begin to think his handicapping is completely flawed and start to question his complete handicapping strategy.

However, such drastic measures are equally harmful, so it is rather advisable to enjoy the hot streaks while they last and withstand the cold streaks until they subside. It is simply important to not gain or lose too much confidence.

It is only when a football wagering streak becomes extremely common or enduring that one should really begin making serious handicapping assessments.

During an extremely long football wagering hot streak, one should obviously just continue the same football wagering approach that has been used and try not to overanalyze the handicapping too much or create too much pressure to continue the hot streak.

On the other hand, if a cold streak appears to be particularly long lasting then it may finally be time to reconsider some of one’s handicapping strategies.
