Are the Chargers Still a Playoff Contender

San Diego ChargersOver the past few years there have been few teams that have been slower starters in football wagering than the San Diego Chargers. This team always seems to struggle through the first two month of the season.

But at the same time there have been few teams that have finishes as well as the Bolts and this team has been a perennial post season fixture. This year it looks like history may be repeating itself.

San Diego has one of the most talented rosters in football wagering but for whatever that hasn’t translated into a Super Bowl title or even a Conference Championship in the pro football wagering action.

But after reaching the AFC title game in 2008 this team now has some experience under its belt and proven leader in Phil Rivers.

But after the teams awful 2-3, rotten defensive play and a moribund running game so far this year there’s no way this squad will back in the playoffs, right?  Well, not so fast.

The Chargers are right back in the race with a 4-3 record and just a game out of the wild card hunt. True to form the team struggled out of the blocks but has come on strong of late.

Rivers is looking in top form and the running game is finally putting up some yards. The defense even discovered something approximating a pass rush in the past two games and Chargers fans now have something to cheer about.

The Chargers are now only two games behind the Broncos in the AFC West NFL wagering action and stranger things have happened than the Bolts leap-frogging a division rival to capture the title in the final weeks of the season.
