Things Have Gone From Bad to Worse in KC

Kansas City ChiefsThe Chiefs fans had huge football wagering expectations at the beginning of the year. The team, sick and tired of losing the past few years, opted for a major overhaul. The front office cleaned house cutting almost the entire team and even changing the front office staff.

Personnel guru Scott Pioli, the hottest commodity in the league was brought in, along with a new coach and a new QB.  And what do Chiefs fans have to show for it? Just another embarrassing football wagering season wasted. Granted, Rome wasn’t built in a day.

But so far the builders of this new KC franchise haven’t set the cornerstone of what was supposed to be a great new pro football wagering start for the struggling team.  It’s much too early to give Pioli a pass or fail. The same with rookie head coach Todd Haley. They inherited one of the biggest messes in NFL wagering and virtually no talent whatsoever.

Pioli has done well to discard the non-performers and bring in new talent.  The jury is still out on Haley. He’s done very little if anything to suggest to fans that he’s the next great coach in waiting.

And new QB Matt Cassel? After a break out season with the mind-numbing receiving corps in New England he has been one of the worst QBs in the league in KC without Randy Moss and Wes Welker. But again he has no line, no running game and a very limited game plan.

Throw the Larry Johnson drama into this mess and things get even sloppier.  It’s sad to say, but at 1-6 it seems like the high point of the season has already come and gone for this team.
