Saints and Colts practically perfect

New Orleans SaintsOne of the hardest things in football wagering is to accomplish a perfect season. In the modern NFL betting world, only one team has finished the regular season 16-0.

And even that seemed like a failure as that team, the 2007 New England Pats, failed to win the Super Bowl.  However, as the 2009 wagering football season heads into week 14, it enters uncharted territory.

For the first time in the history of the league there are two undefeated teams this late in the season.

That’s quite a thing, but what’s even more amazing is the fact that both of these teams actually have a very good chance of finishing the pro football wagering regular season a perfect 16-0.

Both the New Orleans Saints and the Indy Colts are 12-0 with the meat of their schedule over with just one difficult opponent apiece left on the roster.  The Saints will face an 8-4 Cowboy team in week 16.

A tough opponent to be sure, but the game is in the Super Dome and there is perhaps no more inhospitable stadium in NFL football wagering.  The Saints will be favored to win this game and very likely will.

The Colts will face one of their toughest opponents of the season in week 14 when they face Denver at home.  Similarly the Colts will be favored in this all-equine affair and if they get past this opponent it’s a downhill schedule.

Crazy things can happen in the NFL but the odds are on both these teams going undefeated.
