Packers want to leave a mark
The Packers are a team with an identity football wagering crisis. Are they that team that early in the 2009 made too many mistakes on offense, gave up to many big plays on defense and were all around slop artists?
Or is this Packers squad the team of late that has tightened up on both offense and defense and all of a sudden looks like a Wild Card lock? The Green Bay faithful are hoping this team is the latter and there’s little reason to doubt that it’s not.
The Packers are one of the few teams in the pro football wagering this year that seem to be getting better with every game and that type of momentum is exactly what you want with the NFL wagering playoffs just six weeks away.
Aaron Rodgers has played well all football wagering season and is arguably a legitimate MVP candidate. You can’t ignore his 285 ypg, 104.9 passer rating, 22 TDs and just 5 INTs.
But what’s been most impressive from a team standpoint is that he’s dramatically cut down on the drive killing sacks that had doomed this offense in the early going of the season.
On defense this unit has gelled into a group to be reckoned with. It’s the third best in the league at stopping the run (89.1 ypg) and even though it’s given up a few deep balls, the pass coverage has vastly improved and has two very good cover men at the corners.
And the team is second only behind the Steelers in total yards per game (281.5 ypg).
