Chargers are the hottest team in the NFL
After the first month of the NFL season everyone except their mothers had written off the San Diego Chargers. The Broncos had already been handed the AFC West title and Norv Turner was making retirement plans.
Fast forward two months and the Chargers are not only leading the AFC West football wagering but they’re the hottest team in the pro football wagering (excluding the two undefeated teams which have on fire since day one).
The Bolts have reeled off five straight wins, the longest current win streak in the NFL right now after the perfect seasons the Colts and Saints are patching together.
The team’s recent play in the NFL wagering has been night and day compared to the first month of the season when the team got out of the gates at 2-3 and looked terrible in every phase of the game.
QB Phil Rivers (98.7 passer rating, 2.62 ypg, 17 TDs, 6 INTs) is having another stellar year and is being asked carry more of the offensive load than he ever has. He’s passing with flying colors.
WR Vincent Jackson has emerged as a top three talent in the league and one of the most dangerous red zone receivers in the game.
Even LT has shown signs of life in recent games although he’s still nowhere near what he once was and so far, unable to break a game wide open.
Defense is still a bit suspect, but so long as the front seven can keep pressure on the opponents QB the secondary seems competent. Despite how this team started, it’s going to be a contender come January.
