Carolina is Showing Vital Signs
Week one of pro football wagering was not a good week for the Carolina Panthers. Nor was week two, or three or…well the whole first month of the football wagering season was basically a waste for the Panthers.
Jake Delhomme looked like Little Orphan Annie in the pocket and the defense has more holes than Swiss Cheese. But that was then and this is now. And right now the Panthers are one of the hottest pro football wagering teams in the NFL.
After starting the season 1-3 with only an overtime win over the lowly Redskins to show in the win column this team has since caught fire in the pro football wagering competition.
A win over the once mighty Falcons in week nine only verified what Panthers fans have known for awhile now, that this team in fact is pretty good. The jury is still out on Delhomme but he’s improving every week throwing more accurate balls and cutting down on the INTs.
At the start of the pro football wagering season he was completing almost as many passes to opponents as he was to Steve Smith. But that’s changed mostly due to the emergence of the running game.
Few teams in the NFL possess a rushing attack as potent as the two-headed monster of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. The team’s ground game is in the top three in NFL wagering with the two backs averaging 5 yards per carry.
The defense has also stepped up and DE Julius Peppers has finally found his stride with 7 sacks on the year. The team is still just 4-5, but it’s 4-2 over the past six games against some very good competition. A wild card berth isn’t out of the question.
